Our Services this Sunday – 11 April

There will be a morning and an evening service this Sunday.

At 10.00am our Parish Eucharist will take place in church and you are welcome to attend this service in person, if you wish, or you can follow it via the YouTube livestream. The Revd Belinda Searle-Barnes will be presiding and the Revd Dr Ian McIntosh will preach. If you would like to be in the church, we request that you book a place in advance via Eventbrite (or the Church Office during office hours, Monday – Friday), as seating capacity is limited to ensure social distancing requirements are met.

At 6.00pm the Revd David Powell will lead a service of Evening Prayer on Zoom.

Easter Services 2021

On Easter Eve (Saturday 3 April) at 7.45pm the Easter Ceremonies will be led by the Revd Belinda Searle-Barnes. This service will be live-streamed on our YouTube channel. If you would like to be present in person, please book a place via Eventbrite.

There will be three services on Easter Day as we celebrate the risen Christ.

At 9.45am, slightly earlier than our usual Sunday morning service, our Parish Eucharist for Easter Day will take place in church. If you would like to be present, please ensure you book a place in advance via Eventbrite. The Revd Duncan Goldthorpe will preside and the Revd David Powell will preach at this service.

At 10.45am we join together on Zoom for All-Age Worship, led by Elisabeth Sutcliffe, our Children’s Worker. After this service there will be an opportunity to chat with other members of the St Andrew’s family over your morning coffee … and maybe take part in a virtual Easter Egg hunt!

At 6.00pm we end our Easter Day celebrations with a Choral Evensong. You may wish to book a place in church for this service via Eventbrite or you can join in via the YouTube livestream. The Revd David Powell will officiate and the sermon will be given by the Revd Duncan Goldthorpe.

Maundy Thursday and Good Friday Services

A full list of all our services this Holy Week and Easter can be seen on the home page of this website.

At 7.45pm on Maundy Thursday – 1 April – there will be a Choral Eucharist with incense. The Revd David Powell will be presiding with the Revd Peter Littleford preaching. It will be possible to be in church for this service (please book a place in advance via Eventbrite) or join in via the livestream on the St Andrew’s YouTube channel.

On Good Friday, there will be a Family Service at 10.00am on Zoom. Please see the home page of this website to find out more, including how to get activity bags for children. Elisabeth Sutcliffe, our Children’s Worker, will be leading this service.

The Final Hour on Good Friday will be marked with Stations of the Cross from 2.00pm. This service will be led by the Revd Peter Littleford and the Revd David Powell and will take place in the church – please book a place in advance via Eventbrite. This service will also be live-streamed on YouTube.

To end Good Friday there will be a service of Compline on Zoom at 8.00pm.

Palms

Our services for Palm Sunday – 28 March

There will be two services for this Palm Sunday.

At 10.00am the Parish Eucharist for Palm Sunday will take place in church and will also be live-streamed on our YouTube channel. The Revd Dr Ian McIntosh will be presiding and there will be a dramatised reading of the Palm Sunday Gospel. If you would like to be part of the congregation in church, please book a place in advance through Eventbrite (or the Church Office on weekdays, if you cannot access Eventbrite). At 6.00pm the Revd Peter Littleford will lead a service of Evening Prayer via Zoom, the joining instructions for which will be in the Thursday email.

Our Services this Sunday – 21 March

There will be two services for this 5th Sunday of Lent – Passion Sunday.

The Parish Eucharist for Passion Sunday will take place at 10.00am. The Revd Belinda Searle-Barnes will preside and the sermon will be given by the Revd David Powell. This service will be live-streamed on the St Andrew’s YouTube channel and will also see the return of a congregation into the church. If you wish to attend in person, please book a place via Eventbrite in advance, as seating capacity remains restricted at the present time to ensure appropriate social distancing. Links to YouTube and Eventbrite will be in the weekly email sent to all on our mailing list. There is also a link to the YouTube channel on the home page of this website.

On Sunday evening Sacred Space will take place on Zoom at 8.00pm. (Please note the later than usual start time.) Sacred Space will be led by Roz Thomas with music recorded by the worship band. It will be a short reflective service of song, silence and prayer, during which we will listen to and reflect on the hopeful words of Julian of Norwich who also lived through times of pandemic. The Zoom joining instructions will be in the weekly email.
