Our Services this Sunday – 1 August

There will be two services this Sunday for the 9th Sunday after Trinity.

At 8.00am there will be a service of Holy Communion in the church. The Revd Lucy Davis will preside and preach.

At 10.00am All Age Worship will be led by the Revd Lucy Davis and Elisabeth Sutcliffe, our Children’s Worker. The service will take place in the church and will also be shared on Zoom. Joining instructions for Zoom will be included in the weekly email.

Our Services this Sunday – 25 July

This Sunday we mark the feast of James the Apostle and there will be three services. It will also be our new Vicar’s first Sunday amongst us, so we will welcome the Revd Lucy Davis as she presides and celebrates at St Andrew’s for the first time.

At 8.00am there will be a said service of Holy Communion in the church. The Revd Lucy Davis will preside and preach. If you would like to be present, please book a place via Eventbrite or by contacting the Church Office during weekday working hours.

At 10.00am the Revd Lucy Davis will preside and preach at our Parish Eucharist, which will take place in church and also be live-streamed on our YouTube channel. Places in church may be booked via Eventbrite (or the Church Office).

After the 10.00am service, around 11.15am, for those at home there will be an opportunity for a chat over your morning coffee via Zoom. Joining instructions will be included with the weekly email. It is also hoped that it will be possible for those attending the church service in person to enjoy coffee in the Church Centre – and maybe a visit to the Fairtrade stalls in the Church Centre Foyer.

In the evening at 6.00pm there will be a service of Evening Prayer on Zoom.

climate sunday

Our Services this Sunday – 18 July – Climate Sunday

We will be marking Climate Sunday this week at our Parish Eucharist on 18 July, when we will also be saying farewell to the Revd Dr Ian McIntosh. In the evening there will be a Sacred Space service.

At 10.00am Parish Eucharist will take place in church and will also be live-streamed on our YouTube channel. The Revd David Powell will be presiding and the Revd Dr Ian McIntosh will preach – it will be his last Sunday with us before he moves to take up his new post in the Diocese of York, so a chance to say our thanks and goodbyes.

After the service, around 11.15am, there will be an opportunity to chat with other members of the St Andrew’s family via Zoom as you enjoy your morning coffee.

At 6.00pm there will be a service of Sacred Space, which will be led by Kelly Agler-Good and Sam Rick, addressing the theme of the faithfulness of God during the pandemic. This will take place in the church and will also be streamed on YouTube.

There will be two services this Sunday, 11 July. Our Parish Eucharist in the morning and a service of Evening Prayer.

At 10.00am the Revd Belinda Searle-Barnes will preside and preach at our Parish Eucharist, which will commemorate St Benedict. Our Services this Sunday – 4 July

There will be three services this Sunday as we celebrate the opening weekend of our Centenary year and mark 100 years since the foundation stone of the church building was laid on 2 July 1921.

St Andrew’s Through the Decades – an historical exhibition with costume and floral displays – 2-4 JULY

At 8.00am there will be a service of Holy Communion at which The Revd David Powell will preside and preach. If you would like to attend, please book a place through Eventbrite.

At 10.00am we will welcome the Bishop Richard, Bishop of Bedford, to preside and preach at our Parish Eucharist. If you would like to be present in church, places may be booked on Eventbrite. This service will also be live-streamed on the St Andrew’s YouTube channel.

From 12noon to 5.00pm why not drop into the church to see the “St Andrew’s Through the Decades” exhibition – a social history of the last century with costumes and floral displays. Admission is free with donations being split between St John’s Moggerhanger and Water Aid. There is also a glimpse into the world of Women’s Land Army in the 1940s, courtesy of Nicky Reynolds of Soil Cinderellas.

At 6.00pm Choral Evensong will be take place in the church. Dr Diana Stretton will be officiating. Again, places may be booked via Eventbrite and the service will be live-streamed on YouTube.
