The Friends comprise around 130 members paying a subscription of £10 per year enabling concerts, tea dances, sales, raffles, a 100 club and auctions to raise revenue used to purchase much wished for items such a new flag for the church and printing of the hymn book plus contributions towards the cost of displaying the Mothers' Union Banner and to repairing the floor and furnishing of the Upper Room for Youth Work.  The Friends not only work together but 'play' together enjoying trips, theatre visits and coffee mornings.

St Andrew's PCC works collaboratively with the Vicar and clergy team on the mission and ministry of St Andrew's Church, nurturing its members as the body of Christ in this place.  Together they also seek to promote and care for the needs of the parish as a whole and to develop the use of the church buildings by opening their doors to the local community.  This is illustrated through the 2001-2006 Mission Statement 'Praying and Working Together' - 'our intention is to grow together as a Christian community through worship and prayer, to enable people of all ages to discover and deepen their faith and to be equipped for living in God's world and responding to its needs'.
