Our Outreach Partners

St Andrew’s gives 15% of its income from stewardship and plate collections to a mixture of local, national and international charities. We think of these charitable organisations as Partners, whom we uphold in prayer, and whose work we are privileged to share:

“Just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me”

For more information or to talk to someone about the work of the Outreach Committee please contact us at steve.crow123 [@] gmail.com or via the church office.

Monthly focus

Each month we focus on one particular Outreach Partner:

  • As part of the intercessions in our Sunday morning service
  • With an article in the Fisherman magazine
  • With a display in the foyer of the Church Centre

September 2017: Yarl’s Wood Befrienders

Befrienders visit women detained at Yarl’s Wood Immigration and Removal Centre, a few miles from Bedford. If a detainee asks for a visitor, the Befrienders arrange for a volunteer to visit her once a week. Befrienders are sometimes the only person a detainee meets from outside the Centre. Please pray for our Outreach Partners

O God whose nature is to be generous
We confess to you our share of our guilt
for a world of homeless and hungry people
Grant that we all may have listening hearts and generous spirits
and that through our Church we may support our Outreach Partners
who are committed to bringing help to those in such need
For the sake of Jesus Christ Amen
