Second visit to the Woodland Burial Site, Keysoe. Saturday 12th November 2022, 10.30am.

Many of you will remember a wonderful morning planting 100 trees to commemorate the Church Centenary last November. It was felt it might be nice to see if we could offer our help again this year and we now have a date in the diary and a plan for another morning of fresh air and fellowship. It would be wonderful to welcome as many as possible in November, it is an ideal morning for families as there will be jobs for people of all ages and no experience is necessary, just come along and join in with the fun.

The staff at the Woodland site ask if can gather at 10.15 in the car park by the Woodland Site for a 10.30 start, staff from the site will be there to meet us. When you arrive at the site in Keysoe you will be directed to the correct car park by staff on the gate, further information in the Directions below.

We will work at various places around the site for about 2 hours and then stop for lunch at about 12.30.

Please bring a packed lunch, flask and picnic chair with you. At the end of the morning we trust the weather will be kind enough for us all to sit and enjoy time together eating our lunch outside in the fresh air.

Please also bring Waterproof clothing & wellingtons or boots, Gloves, Spade, Hoe or weeding equipment.

Due to the very dry weather no new trees are being planted at the moment so we will be planting a variety of woodland bulbs, including snowdrops, snake's head fritillary and aconite. The Woodland Manager, Will Saunders, will have sourced the bulbs and be there to advise us on planting.

There will also be Winter clear up tasks such as collecting up any dead flowers, weeding and clearing leaves which have fallen into the mesh guards protecting the young Scots pine trees.

Directions Take the B660 out of Bedford past Mowsbury Golf Course for approx. 7.5 miles. Continue past Kymbrook Primary School and through Keysoe Village until the crossroads at Church Road. Turn left, down Church Road past St Mary the Virgin Parish Church. Keysoe International equestrian centre is half a mile down Church Road and on your left. Please report to Security for instructions. You will be directed across the car park; keep right and please drive very slowly MAX 5MPH as there may be horses around. Emergency Telephone 07973 113861

If you would like to make a donation to the work of the Woodland Burial Trust we will take a cash collection towards their work at the end of the morning or you can use their Just Giving page which is found on their website.
