Choir and Junior Choir

Choir

St Andrew’s has a robed 4-part choir, affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music. They are rehearsed by our Director of Music, Paul Searle-Barnes.

The choir sings at the 10.00am Parish Eucharist on every Sunday except on the First Sunday of the month when they lead Choral or Sung Evensong at 6.00pm.

Adult choir practices are held on Fridays at 7.30pm.

Junior Choir

Junior choristers have their own rehearsal (Fridays at 7.00pm), receive choir pay and progress through the RSCM awards scheme – teaching them good singing technique and music theory.

The Junior Choir consisting of boys and girls, gives occasional concerts and have twice been on a choir tour of local village churches, ending with Evensong.

Worship Band

The Worship Band leads the music at our 10.00am All-Age Service on the first Sunday of every month. It also plays at our regular Sacred Space services through the year on Sunday evenings at 6.00pm.

The band’s instruments are keyboard, tenor saxophone, electric or acoustic violin, flutes and drum kit. The repertoire of songs and music that the worship band plays is ever expanding and features both modern worship songs and old favourites.
