We've been lucky enough to build a great connection with the team at Emmaus Carlton Village over time. If you’re not familiar with their work, Emmaus provides more than just a roof over someone’s head – they create a real home where people who’ve experienced homelessness can rebuild their lives, find purpose, and become part of a supportive community.
Lacing Up for a Good Cause: The Harrold Pit Run
CEO Donna-Louise Cobban, companion Eldridge and volunteer Richard put their best feet forward on Saturday 25th April, completing the three mile race around Harrold village and the lakes, and raising over £327 for Emmaus. The event encompasses four races from a short children's race to a fully marshalled three mile race. Donna-Louise said that it was a great team effort and thanks to everyone who made a donation. The Pit Run is a great community event.
Breaking Bread Together: The Pajule Lunch
Looking ahead, we’re excited about sharing a special meal together at the Pajule lunch on 6th July at St. Andrews. What makes this particularly meaningful is that the Companions from Emmaus will be rolling up their sleeves to help make it happen. It's these moments of pitching in together and connecting that really make our relationships stronger.
Reach Out and Connect
If you’re feeling called to support this work, please have a chat with Tim Papworth or Rebecca Stockman – they’re our dedicated Emmaus Carlton Village leaders. Whether you have questions, ideas, or simply want to learn more, they’d love to talk with you over a cup of tea after service.
