At St Andrew’s, we are always looking for ways to strengthen our relationships with the charities we support, and our recent collaborations with Emmaus Carlton Village have been particularly special.

In July, companions from Emmaus joined us in the kitchen to help prepare and serve our church lunch. The event was held in aid of World Vision’s work in Pajule, and we were so grateful for their help. On the menu were some traditional Ugandan dishes including matoke, rice and beans, and mandazi donuts. It was a fantastic opportunity to work together, and the companions who helped out had a great time, too! They've even expressed interest in finding more ways to work with us here at St Andrew’s, and we're excited to see what future opportunities might arise.

Our Mission and Outreach team also recently focused on Emmaus Carlton Village during two of our Toastie Club sessions. The young people spent time learning about all three of our partner charities. They worked in small teams to create mini news casts, exploring what it means for companions at Emmaus to live and work in community, especially when facing difficult times in their lives. It was a powerful way for them to understand the important work that Emmaus does and the incredible community they have built.

We are so thankful for our ongoing partnership with Emmaus Carlton Village and look forward to building on these connections in the future.
